Case Study for Creating Synergy Workshop

Case Study

There was a village named Faiyum in Egypt. There lived Allarakha, who had a piece of land for farming. He was a happy-go-lucky person who would carry on his work and praise the almighty.

He wished he had more time for prayers so he appointed two men for his fields, Zahir and Abdul. Zahir would come early morning at 6 am and would work till 2 pm. Abdul would come at 2 pm and work till 10 pm. Zahir would look after the fields and Abdul would look after the barn, maintenance and fields too.

Allarakha noticed that Zahir and Abdul kept to themselves and would not talk with each other. He thought of speaking with both of them. He asked Zahir to stay after his shift and Abdul to come early. Both were reluctant to at this idea.

Allarakha thought of many other ways to make them speak to each other but it did not help.

Questions:

  1. Do you think it is unrealistic for Allarakha to think the way he was?
  2. What do you think about the interaction level between Zahir and Abdul?
  3. Why do you think it is important for Zahir and Abdul to interact?
  4. What do you think could be done to make them synergize with each other?
