Leadership Development Program (LDP)

Leaders exist in all walks of life and at all levels in organizations. As a leader in any situation one needs to understand the basic principles of leadership, the role of the leader, the skills of the effective leader and some of the challenges facing leaders in today’s business environment. The LDP is a power paced program for leaders to steer the energy and passion of the team members and align them in a constructive way towards exceeding organizational goals.

Target Competencies:

Analytical Thinking: This competency involves interpreting, linking, and analyzing information in order to understand issues. This means thinking beyond the organization and into the future, balancing multiple perspectives when setting direction or reaching conclusions.

Business Acumen and Entrepreneurship: The Business Acumen and Entrepreneurship competency involves mastering business leadership skills and effective managing resources (human, financial, and technological). Entrepreneurial thinking and best business practices are routinely applied to core leadership areas. This competency also involves anticipating future trends to achieve a competitive advantage.

Change Leadership: The Change Leadership competency involves managing, leading and enabling the process of change and transition while helping others deal with their effects. This requires creating an environment that promotes and encourages change or innovation. It also requires personally communicating a clear vision of the broad impact of change.

Communication: The Communications competency focuses on fostering open and honest communication and facilitating multi-way communication internally and externally. Communication competency involves providing clear, consistent verbal and non-verbal messages to support the vision and strategy of the organization. This competency also requires communicating effectively and timely through technical writing, presentations and reports.

Conflict Management: This competency involves creating a conflict- resolving environment by anticipating and addressing areas where potential misunderstanding and disruptive conflict could emerge. This also means modeling constructive approaches to deal with opposing views, personally challenging the status quo and encouraging others to do so as well.

Developing Others: Competency in Developing Others involves actively modeling and enhancing leadership attributes in others through effective delegation of work and tasks, empowering, coaching, mentoring, counseling, teaching, providing constructive feedback, and rewarding excellence. This competency involves creating an environment supportive of continual learning and pursuit of internal and external development opportunities.

Influencing and Negotiating: The Influencing and Negotiating competency involves initiating proactive interaction between parties to achieve mutually satisfying solutions to complex issues and problems. This competency involves deploying effective tactics, positioning, and personal communication and engagement skills to impact results positively while demonstrating recognition of, and respect for, all parties’ interests.

Visioning and Strategic Direction: This involves developing and inspiring commitment to a vision of success; supporting, promoting and ensuring alignment with the organization’s vision and values. It requires identifying, conceptualizing and synthesizing new trends or connections between organizational issues and translating them into priorities for the organization.

Duration of the Program

The ideal duration of the program is 24 hours, i.e. three days but it can be customized as per the client’s requirements.
