In case you feel that you have more of negative thoughts, ask these questions from yourself in the following manner:
- What am I thinking?
- Are there any distortions in my thinking? (See the unhelpful thinking styles poster)
- What worst can happen?
- What is the likelihood of it happening?
- What is the evidence supporting it?
- Has this happened in the past?
- How did I cope with it?
- What worked out /didn’t work out?
- What can I do differently this time?
- Who can support me?
- What’s my advice to my best friend in case she is in a similar situation?
- What are my rights in this situation?
